Scroll, the Ethereum Layer 2 Network, launches zkEVM on Mainnet and it is not yet known whether or not Scroll tokens will be distributed.

Scroll Ethereum Layer 2 Network announced that zkEVM is now live on mainnet, where it looks like the Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution has been deployed since October 8th.

In fact,It looks likeInstallation of the bridge will begin on October 8th, according to Etherscan, with more than 750 ETH ($1.2 million) bridged so far. According to the Dune Analytics dashboard It covers more than 1,500 transactions and has nearly 1,000 unique users.

zkEVM is a layer 2 network built on Ethereum using zero-knowledge proofs for scalability. And because of their compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, these networks can support Ethereum applications while running at scale.

“At Scroll, we take security very seriously,” Scroll co-founder Haichen Shen said in a statement, “and Scroll is approaching security holistically. We have a dedicated internal security team, our code is fully audited with multiple audit companies, and it remains open source. which we have been working on since day one.”

Scroll said the initial focus is on preparing infrastructure providers. This is followed by rolling deployments with developers getting started. And finally, new users.

“What will drive mass adoption is a better user and developer experience,” adds Sandy Peng, co-founder of Scroll. “We are focused on helping developers build blogging apps. Chain for real use and attract many new users and move everyone forward.”

The next important event in Scroll’s roadmap is the launch. decentralized prover network and decentralized sequencer, which replace key centralized elements of the current Layer 2 network controlled by the project team.

However, there is still no confirmation if or when Scroll tokens will be distributed.
