“Personally, I’m not interested in collaborating with chatbots on screenwriting,” says Phoebe Waller-Bridge in an interview. What are your fears?
British actress and screenwriter Phoebe Waller-Bridge (37) is concerned about the possible uses of artificial intelligence (AI) in her industry. “These developments are spreading so rapidly, it’s always going on, and in all of this there is always this unknown factor, something that we all cannot yet assess,” she said in an interview with “Welt am Sonntag”. “I find that absolutely terrifying. Especially when it comes to the rights of screenwriters – that is, that we will be paid appropriately for our job, our intellectual work in the future. That is very threatening.”
“Personally, I’m not interested in collaborating with chatbots on screenwriting,” Waller-Bridge said. However, it is possible that there will be producers who will first write stories using AI chatbots and then have scriptwriters polish them up. “Then a completely different film industry would emerge.”
Waller-Bridge has starred in films such as The Iron Lady and Solo: A Star Wars Story. As a screenwriter, she was successful with the series “Killing Eve”. In the new “Indiana Jones” adventure “The Wheel of Destiny” she plays the goddaughter of the archaeologist. The film will be in cinemas at the end of June.
