Reports: Universal is planning a new “Jurassic World” film

There are already six films from the “Jurassic Park” series. Now a seventh dinosaur adventure could be added. Steven Spielberg is also said to be on board.

After six adventure films from the “Jurassic” universe, the dinosaurs could return to the big screen. The Universal Pictures studio is working on a new “Jurassic World” film, as several US industry newspapers have consistently reported. US screenwriter David Koepp (60), who already wrote the scripts for StevenSpielberg, who wrote the films “Jurassic Park” (1993) and “Forgotten World: Jurassic Park” (1997), is on board as a writer, according to “Variety” and “Hollywood Reporter”.

Frank Marshall, who produced the “Jurassic World” trilogy, is set to produce, with Spielberg as executive producer, Deadline.com reports. It is said that the planned film will introduce new characters and a new story. It was initially not known whether previous cast members such as Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern or Jeff Goldblum would appear.

To date, there have been six blockbuster films from the “Jurassic Park” series from 1993 to 2001, followed by “Jurassic World” from 2015 to 2022. The second trilogy was completed by “Jurassic World: A New Age” in 2022.

In addition to his two “Jurassic” screenplays, Koepp is also the author of films such as “Mission: Impossible”, “Spider-Man”, “War of the Worlds”, “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” and most recently “Indiana Jones and That”. Wheel of Destiny” (2023).
