Science: criticism of Stark-Watzinger – knowledge

Of

Paul Munzinger

It has been almost two weeks since Paula-Irene Villa Braslavsky, professor of sociology at the LMU Munich and chairwoman of the German Society for Sociology, an open letter sent to Bettina Stark-Watzinger, the Federal Minister for Education and Research. But Villa Braslavsky has not received an answer to this day. Like other affected scientists, she has to continue to puzzle over why the ministry of the FDP politician has been canceling or postponing planned funds for several weeks and, as the letter says, “spreading ambiguity and uncertainty”. Another feeling is now added: the frustration about the communication of the ministry. “Talk to us, the scientific community,” Villa Braslavsky wrote on Twitter on Monday.
