Schumacher’s 1998 Ferrari fetches record price at auction
Used car trade for millionaires: The auction house Sotheby’s has auctioned the Formula 1 racing car F300 for several million dollars. Michael Schumacher drove in the Ferrari car in the 1998 season.
A historic racing car owned by record world champion Michael Schumacher has been auctioned for 6.22 million US dollars. As the auction house RM Sotheby’s announced, a bidder from Monterey, California, was awarded the contract for Schumacher’s legendary Ferrari F300 from the 1998 Formula 1 season.
Four races with chassis 187
With the 187 chassis, Schumacher drove four races in the 1998 season and thus clinched four victories – in Canada, France, England and Italy. According to RM Sotheby’s, this is the most successful and only undefeated Ferrari chassis in Formula 1 history to have been used in at least three races. At the end of 1999, the previous owner bought it directly from Ferrari.
