Schoolchildren confined due to the presence of drug dealers

The incident shocked many families. Friday afternoon, around 1:30 p.m., students from a primary school in Lorient were confined inside their establishment due to the worrying presence of drug dealers in the nearby park. It was the director of the Bois-Bissonet school who made this decision after noticing the suspicious movements of individuals in the square positioned on the other side of the playground where the children were as at every break meridian.

All access to this park, located in the Kervéanec district and known for its drug trafficking, had suddenly been blocked by young men with trash cans. Preferring to avoid the slightest risk, in the event of a possible settling of scores, the director then sheltered the students inside, reports West France.

A worrying context of violence

The traffickers disappeared when the police arrived. Municipal police officers came as reinforcements after classes left at 4:45 p.m.

This incident occurs in a context of violence against a backdrop of drug trafficking in this sector of Lorient. On September 3, a young man was killed by a gunshot to the chest. Already on August 22, in this same Kervénanec district, a 38-year-old man was shot twice in the legs in a square.
