School and pandemic: to be ashamed of – culture

As a good member of the Gratitude Generation, I have always passionately defended the German school system and the teaching profession. No permanent holidays, but intensive work, non-stop in full contact with energetic young people who immediately sense when the tension of the teaching staff is letting up, and then even more so they tear the hut apart. The most important and also the most strenuous job in the world, so to speak, which deserves much more recognition and appreciation than it gets in times of prosperity, especially from parents. Add to that everything that has improved over the decades since you were in school yourself: Mr. Maurer, who checked girls while they were wiping the blackboard, has largely died out. There are nature projects, magnetic boards and reading foxes. And hey, they don’t just learn from the front all the time anymore, they now have stations in elementary school. If you don’t believe how demanding and on the way it all is, you should just put yourself in front of such a class.
