Schonstett: There’s room for Florian 43/1 – Bayern

Until Friday, all firefighters in Bavaria can take part in an online survey by the State Fire Brigade Association, which asked the question “Who will extinguish tomorrow?” is overwritten. It’s about when and why someone came to the fire department, how that is compatible with work and family and whether, for example, one would like “more recognition in the community (mayor m/f/d)”. It is unclear how many members of the Schonstett volunteer fire department have taken part in the survey so far. However, the active members of Schonstetter have just answered the question as to who will be deleting tomorrow: we won’t.

Where tomorrow in the case only the 1.1. is. From January onwards, the approximately 50 Schonstetter activists only want to delete if the decision-makers in the 1400-inhabitant community in the Rosenheim district finally concede what they are entitled to. But they don’t actually mean Mayor (m) Paul Dirnecker personally, who inherited the problem in 2020, and they don’t mean recognition in the sense of a thank you and a keg of beer for the next festival. But a new fire station, as they have needed for 30 years.

The fact that they got a new fire engine 20 years ago only made things worse, because the Florian Schonstett 43/1 can be maneuvered backwards into the garage with a little back and forth, but inside the doors on the left and right don’t open completely . And they also need space for their Florian Schonstett 65/1 small alarm vehicle, internally called “Hans Werner”, and for lockers and material and for separate toilets (m/f) and in general for everything that all experts and supervisory authorities consider to be fire brigade just so needed.

The community, in turn, would have needed a good two million euros for the necessary new building in 2019, from which the last plans come, and now they need three and a half. But you can’t really afford that, according to the town hall. A municipality can even less afford no fire brigade at all, because fire brigade is mandatory. In extreme cases, it could force citizens between the ages of 18 and 60 to serve in a “compulsory fire brigade” in January. It would be the first in all of Bavaria. And the fire station would be too small for her.
