The Schliersee senior citizens’ residence, which has come under fire for lack of care, is finally closing its doors. All residents should leave the facility by the end of the week. A solution has now also been found for the last three seniors, said the spokeswoman for the Miesbach district office on Tuesday afternoon. The house, which formerly offered space for around 140 senior citizens, has to close due to serious lack of maintenance.
The last time 46 people lived in the home at the beginning of September. Since then, residents have been moving out almost every day, according to the management of the home. The “Münchner Merkur” reported about it.
The department for care and handicapped facilities, quality development and supervision (FQA) as home supervision had prohibited the operation. Accordingly, the operator would have until November 30th for the settlement. However, the Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Pflegekassen (ARGE) terminated the supply contract on September 30th. This means that the institution is de facto deprived of its economic basis.
The Munich II public prosecutor’s office has long been investigating suspicions of bodily harm in the case of dozens of residents. There were neglected and malnourished people in the home, it said. Deaths are also being investigated.
