Schleswig-Holstein election in the live blog: According to the extrapolation, Daniel Günther triumphs on the fjord

Here again summarized current status of the forecasts: The CDU clearly won the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein. According to the forecasts of ARD and ZDF, Prime Minister Daniel Günther’s Christian Democrats are well ahead of the SPD and Greens and can improve significantly compared to 2017.

The CDU therefore has 41 to 43 percent of the votes (2017: 32.0). The Social Democrats, with Thomas Losse-Müller as their top candidate, achieved a historically poor result in a state election in Schleswig-Holstein with 15.5 to 16 percent (2017: 27.3). The Greens achieve 17 to 19.5 percent (2017: 12.9) and the FDP 7 percent (2017: 11.5). With 4.5 to 4.9 percent, the AfD has to worry about re-entering the state parliament (2017: 5.9).

The left clearly missed entering parliament in Kiel again. The South Schleswig Voters’ Association (SSW) comes to 6 percent (2017: 3.3). As a party of the Danish minority, it is exempt from the five percent clause.
