It starts again!
In the first round of DFB Cup meet Eintracht Braunschweig and the FC Schalke 04 in a pure second division duel.
At Braunschweig it’s not working at all yet. The first two games were lost. On Sunday, the Lower Saxony lost 2-1 at 1. FC Magdeburg, at the start of the season there was a 1-0 defeat at home against Holstein Kiel. Eintracht is only in 16th place because of the better goal difference in front of the also pointless Berliners Hertha BSC and 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
Schalke also lost their opening game (3:5 against HSV). At the weekend there was an important 3-0 win against Kaiserslautern, which averted a false start.
Bitter: Thomas Ouwejan is out for the cup game in Braunschweig, according to coach Thomas Reis Ralf Fährmann is not yet fit enough for a squad place.
