Marius Bülter leaves FC Schalke 04 and signs with TSG Hoffenheim. Both clubs have confirmed the move.
Update, Thursday (July 6), 3:11 p.m.: Gelsenkirchen – Now it’s final: Marius Bülter is leaving Schalke 04 and moving to TSG Hoffenheim. The S04 has just officially confirmed this.
Marius Bülter moves from Schalke 04 to TSG Hoffenheim and signs until 2026
Both parties have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transfer. According to consistent media reports, the sum can increase to around 4 million euros through bonus payments. Bülter signs a contract with the Sinsheim club until 2026.
“Marius approached us with the desire to seize this opportunity. We respected his wish, but it was also clear that we would only hand over the player under clearly defined conditions,” says S04 sporting director Andre Hechelmann on the transfer.
First report, Wednesday (July 5), 2:48 p.m.: The transfer poker had dragged on for weeks, now Bülter’s departure from FC Schalke 04 is apparently fixed. According to consistent media reports from sky, WAZ, Picture and table football the S04 have agreed with TSG Hoffenheim to change the attacker.

In June, S04 sports director Peter Knäbel made a promise to Marius Bülter that a transfer “would not be cheap for other clubs”. According to media reports, FC Schalke 04 demanded around 5 million euros for the 30-year-old striker.
Now the S04 has apparently moved away from its desired fee. It is said that the sum is just over 4 million euros including bonus numbers. According to that table football the basic sum is around 3 million euros. The transfer should be announced before the weekend (more S04 transfer news at RUHR24).
Schalke 04 sells Marius Bülter: Make way for Tim Skarke?
With the departure of Marius Bülter, the Royal Blues could start moving again on the transfer market. FC Schalke 04 would like to strengthen themselves on the wing.
One possibility would be Tim Skarke. The S04 dream player no longer has a future at Union Berlin and is considered the number one candidate. After all, the 26-year-old has been on loan for the “Knappen” since January, he knows the club and the players, the adjustment period would be short.
Marius Bülter continues his Bundesliga adventure
For Marius Bülter, the rapid career advancement continues. In 2018 he was still playing in the Regionalliga West. His first appearances in the second division followed at 1. FC Magdeburg and his Bundesliga debut at Union Berlin.
