Schäftlarn:Construction in stages

In spring, work will start on the cycle path from Schäftlarn to Icking

Construction work on the sections of a cycle path between Schäftlarn and Icking will begin in spring 2022. The start was originally planned for this year, but the heavy rainfalls in the summer in particular had put such a strain on the staff of the Weilheim state building authority and thus also its time capacities that this was no longer possible.

Discussions about a possible cycle path between Schäftlarn and Icking have been going on for many years. The 560 meter long first section in southern Ebenhausen begins there at the existing crossing aid and ends at the confluence with Gut Holzen. At the same time, a section on the TÖL 21 district road south of Ergertshausen is to be built.

The storms in summer led, among other things, to mudslides and landslides as well as bank breaks, as Martin Herda, the department head in the building authority responsible for the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district, reports. The construction of the first section is expected to cost around 250,000 euros. The federal government will pay for this. The Free State bears the 230,000 euros for securing the slope on State Road 2071. In the long term, a continuous cycle path from Icking to Ebenhausen is to be built along the east side of Bundesstraße 11. However, in large areas of the route, parts of the property for the cycle lane are still missing. Negotiations with the owners are ongoing, according to the Weilheim building authority.
