This week in France, while the Internet collapsed on Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire because his new novel features an explicit sex scene, which was immediately cheered on Twitter, German Justice Minister Marco Buschmann posed at the same time with a Yoda doll, which, like was soon critically noted, did not depict Yoda at all. And while this simultaneity is probably coincidental, it may say something about how politicians see themselves and the public, and the means by which they try to engage in dialogue.
