Saxophonist Alexandra Lehmler with her quartet in the Unterfahrt – Munich

The entire passion of the Mannheim saxophonist Alexandra Lehmler belongs to jazz in all its facets. Whether she does jazz projects for children, is a member of the board of directors of the German Jazz Union or takes part in theater productions. But above all, of course, with their quartet, which has existed for more than 20 years and has become an integral part of the German jazz landscape.

In the meantime, their formation is part of the family in the truest sense of the word. After all, she is married to her bassist Matthias Debus and has three children. And so her new eighth album “Sans Mots”, which she is now presenting in the Unterfahrt, is also a musical homage to her own children, her family, the bizarreness of everyday life, life and love. Fired up by the great accompanists Federico Casagrande on guitar and Patrice Héral on drums.

Alexandra Lehmler Quartet, Sat., March 25, 8.30 p.m., Unterfahrt, Einsteinstraße 42, www.unterfahrt.de
