Two dead in a dispute in Magdeburg

The reasons for the altercation with a fatal outcome are still completely unclear. All people are “in a family relationship with one another.”

With the two dead in Magdeburg it is a 9-year-old boy and a 42-year-old woman. Police spokesman Stefan Brodtrück said this on Sunday afternoon. The 18-year-old suspect was temporarily arrested. The injured are two girls aged 13 and 15 and a 17-year-old teenager. According to the police, all of the people were “in a family relationship with each other.”

According to a spokesman, the three injured people are currently receiving medical care in hospitals. According to initial investigations, the 18-year-old is said to have attacked the five people with a “previously unknown object” on Oldenburger Strasse early Sunday morning. The suspect was caught by police officers near the crime scene.

The family relationship between the alleged perpetrator and the people killed and injured is still unknown. According to the spokesman, there was never any danger to third parties. It is not yet known why the altercation occurred. The police secured evidence at the crime scene on Sunday. The investigation is ongoing.
