In Ellefeld, Saxony, two houses are ablaze with flames during the night. The previously missing owner of one residential building has now been found lifeless in the rubble.

After the fire in two residential buildings in Ellefeld, Saxony, on Sunday night, a man was found lifeless in the rubble in the morning. According to the responsible police department in Zwickau, the 67-year-old is the owner of the building where the fire broke out.

Despite the immediate action of the fire brigade, the flames spread to the adjacent building. Its residents were able to leave it independently beforehand, and the surrounding houses were evacuated.

The cause of the fire is unclear, according to the police, local residents “first noticed a loud explosion”. The affected houses were completely burned out and uninhabitable, the extent of the damage unclear. The criminal police are investigating.
