The name is not mentioned in the indictment, but everyone knows: the former national goalkeeper Jens Lehmann allegedly sawed the roof beam of his neighbor in a neighborhood dispute. It was about the view of Lake Starnberg.

A dispute between neighbors can sometimes take on bizarre traits. This is what happened at Lake Starnberg: Last summer, the police there reported an incident involving a chainsaw. The news quickly spread in the media that one of those involved was the former national goalkeeper Jens Lehmann. According to dpa information, it is about the World Cup hero of 2006. Now the Munich II public prosecutor has accused him. But why actually?

Jens Lehmann is silent on the allegations

According to dpa information, the 53-year-old is accused of having cut a roof beam in his neighbor’s garage with a chainsaw because the garage blocked his view of the lake from his house. According to the spokeswoman for the public prosecutor’s office, who only speaks of a “former member of the German national football team”, the accused is charged with damaging property, among other things. Several media had previously reported on the indictment.

Lehmann’s lawyer initially did not comment on the allegations against his client. Lehmann himself also initially left inquiries in this regard unanswered. According to the district court of Starnberg, the indictment has not yet been admitted. It is therefore still open whether the matter will go to trial in court. There is currently no comment on the allegations. The presumption of innocence applies until the end of the proceedings.
