Savings plans for Munich local transport – resort to the emergency brake – Munich

It would be irresponsible to continue pursuing the plans for Munich’s transport transition, even though it is clear that there would never be enough money for it.

Every public transport passenger knows this square red handle in the subway that is located near the doors: the emergency brake, which can only be used in acute danger. In a figurative sense, the MVG supervisory board could now pull on this red square handle, and pull it hard. The capacity expansion of subways, trams and buses intended for the transport transition will not be stopped completely, but will be tackled much more slowly than previously planned. The resources required for this would go beyond any reasonable framework.
