Gasoline prices can fluctuate widely over the course of a day.
Did you know that the time plays a crucial role in this?
A study by the ADAC found the best and worst periods for refueling.
To do this, the car club measured price movements every minute for a month
of around 14,000 filling stations across Germany. The result:
Fuel is most expensive in the mornings – especially at 7 a.m. and between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Surprisingly, you save money at the pump after work.
The cheapest time to fill up is between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
At its peak, the price difference for a gasoline engine is more than seven cents per liter.
But be careful: after 11 p.m. the price tag will skyrocket again.
