High inflation is causing Germans to save more. However, according to a study: the most savings are made on groceries and restaurants. That does raise some questions.
The Germans are not only known for their pretzels, bratwursts and beer gardens – but also for their thrift. The butter isn’t just thrown into the shopping cart. This has to be planned for the long term: Beforehand, brochures are leafed through, offers are compared and, if in doubt, the calculator is pulled out to calculate the savings when buying the special offer.
