Sauerlach – heart-shaped cloud in the sky – district of Munich

If that’s not a sign: Just on his 66th birthday, September 2nd, SZ reader Roland Fiedler observed and photographed this heart-shaped cloud over his hometown of Sauerlach. What at first glance looks like a heavenly birthday greeting was of course of an earthly nature and was apparently intended for the bride of an aerobatic pilot in love, who not only drew a heart in the sky with daring maneuvers, but also a marriage proposal. In any case, after further breathtaking flight manoeuvres, he also left behind two intertwined rings in the firmament. Not made of gold or platinum, but formed of contrails. The heart kept its shape for a long time, and even if it wasn’t made for our reader’s birthday, it was a nice gift for him too.
