Sarah Ferguson (63), the Duchess of York, will apparently not be among the guests at the coronation of King Charles III. (74) on May 6th. As reported by several British media, citing sources, Prince Andrew’s (63) divorced wife has not received an invitation. The disgraced Duke of York, on the other hand, is said to be on the guest list. It is unclear whether he will play a role in the ceremony.

As the BBC reports, Ferguson does not see the decision as “malice”. Accordingly, she did not expect an invitation to her former brother-in-law’s coronation.

Close relationship despite divorce

“Fergie”, the nickname of the mother of Princess Beatrice (34) and Princess Eugenie (33), was married to Prince Andrew from 1986 to 1996. Despite the divorce, she continues to maintain close relationships with several members of the royal family, including her ex-husband. They lived together in the Sunninghill Park estate until 2004, but are now neighbors in the grounds of Windsor Castle. After the Queen’s death, the two took in the monarch’s corgis.

In the past few days, more and more details about the guest list for the coronation of King Charles III. public at London’s Westminster Abbey. Among the approximately 2,000 guests are members of the royal family as well as numerous international royals, heads of state and representatives from all over the world. Among others, French President Emmanuel Macron and US First Lady Jill Biden are expected in the British capital. It was also announced earlier this week that Charles’ son Prince Harry (38) will travel to London – but without his wife Duchess Meghan (41) and their children.
