SAP supervisory board chairman Hasso Plattner wants to recruit his successor from within his own ranks. “I hope that we can win a member of the supervisory board for this task and don’t have to get someone from outside,” said Plattner at the virtual general meeting of the Walldorf-based software group. The search is in progress and he cannot yet name a name, said the 78-year-old when criticized by shareholders. This is an emotional task for him.
The Californian by choice, who personally attended the shareholder meeting for the first time since the outbreak of the corona pandemic, is the last of the founders to still work for the now 50-year-old company. Plattner had already announced last year that he wanted to lead the Supervisory Board for another two years. This provoked sharp criticism from shareholder representatives. Now he was re-elected with 90.5 percent. The former board spokesman Plattner has been the head of the supervisory board since 2003 and holds a six percent stake.
