18-year-old stabs high school student – she had previously reported him
Special police forces are on duty at a school in St. Leon-Tot, but they were no longer able to prevent it

In St. Leon-Rot, a high school has become the site of a gruesome crime. An 18-year-old student was stabbed. The perpetrator was known to the police and fled in the car until he was arrested.
Sankt Leon-Rot is a small town, probably one of those where life is quite good, but which hardly anyone knows. Around 14,000 residents, a golf club, a lake, there are three football clubs and a large street festival. On Thursday, the name of the community near Heidelberg tragically made headlines across the country. Blue lights flash everywhere in the town. The fire department is there, rescue workers, the police. Officials cordon off the streets, emergency managers call nervously around the area. Uncertain citizens gather in front of the town hall. Sirens wailing. Masked, heavily armed emergency services enter the Löwenrot through the glass front.High school.
An act of violence in the modern school building shocks the small community. An emergency call was received by the police at 10:19 a.m. First we talk about a woman who was seriously injured in the local high school. It soon becomes clear: it is an 18-year-old student. And it is revealed that she did not survive the attack. Attempts at resuscitation at the crime scene fail. She was stabbed with a knife.
The perpetrator flees in the car
It remains unclear who is responsible for her death. But early on, the emergency services said that it was probably a relationship act. The suspect is on the run. A police helicopter flies over the place, searching for him. Officials do not believe there is any danger to the population, but a spokesman admits: “I can’t look into the person’s head, many things are possible.”
The perpetrator flees in a car. The perpetrator is already far away. He flees in the car. It was only in Seesen in Lower Saxony, around 312 kilometers as the crow flies from the crime scene, that he was finally arrested – after he caused an accident and was injured. The public prosecutor’s office plans to apply for an arrest warrant against him at the district court in Heidelberg on Friday.
It is an 18-year-old student. He is apparently no stranger to the police. As early as November 2023, the student filed a criminal complaint against him for physical violence, the public prosecutor and police said. Apart from that, the suspect has not yet appeared criminally.
Motive still unknown
It remains unclear why the young man killed the student. The police are not giving any details. The high school in question was founded in 1998 as a private high school in Leimen with a parents’ initiative. According to the school, 685 students are currently being taught there by 85 teachers. “Visitors should always register at the office,” says a large sign in front of the building. The school’s homepage displays an error message on Thursday.
Around 650 students will be evacuated in the morning and taken to a collection point, according to the police in a sports hall. Parents pick them up one by one. After the arrest, a little more calm returned to St. Leon-Rot. Police forensic investigators are on the upper floor of the school.
The act is reminiscent of another violent act in Offenburg last November. At that time, a 15-year-old student shot a peer in a special needs school. According to police, the German’s attack took place in the suspect’s ninth grade class. The 15-year-old student came into his classroom and shot his classmate in the back of the head with a handgun.
