No player is currently as enthusiastic about football in Germany as Leroy Sané!
During Julian Nagelsmann’s debut against the USA (3-1), the Bayern star continued his recent strong performances at the club (7 goals in 11 competitive games).
The national coach raved about Sané before the duel with Mexico in Philadelphia: “I’m glad that he’s now delivering at Bayern and doing similarly well for us. He simply has outstanding qualities, good ideas, a very good goal finisher. He’s in a very good mood.”
Nagelsmann is not the only star coach who is seriously impressed by Sané.
Sané as Salah’s successor?
SPORT1 can confirm reports from England that Liverpool FC have their eye on the 27-year-old. His name is on Jürgen Klopp’s list in the increasingly likely event that Mohamed Salah turns his back on the Reds after the current season at the latest.
The Egyptian superstar has had a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia since the summer, which really appeals to him. Those responsible at Liverpool assume that he will no longer be able to be retained in 2024. Sané could play his role on the right wing one-on-one. However, Liverpool still has other candidates in mind.
The topic is not yet hot. After SPORT1-Sané currently doesn’t waste much thought on his future and wants to concentrate on his achievements. He feels comfortable in Munich both professionally and personally and sees FCB as his first point of contact.
Sports director Christoph Freund announced before the DFB’s international trip to the United States that he wanted to approach Sané’s side as soon as possible. It is clear to Bayern: They want to quickly extend the contract with the winger, which is valid until 2025 – also in order to thwart possible interested parties for next summer, such as Liverpool, in good time.
“We will definitely have discussions in the next few weeks. “He is an exceptionally good player, a key player – and it would be nice if he stayed in Munich for a long time,” emphasized Freund.
Tuchel and Sané get along excellently
Sané moved from Manchester City to FC Bayern in the summer of 2020. Since then he has appeared on the field 144 times for the record champions, collecting 82 scorer points (45 goals/37 assists).
If he continues as before, a few more will be added – and if the Bayern bosses have their way, then beyond 2025!
Thomas Tuchel could also play an important role in his future decision. Sané gets along excellently with the Bayern coach. But he also had and still has a good relationship with his predecessor Nagelsmann.
