Samsung Announces Global Partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures for “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” – Samsung Newsroom Germany

With the theatrical release of the long-awaited superhero adventure “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” Samsung Electronics announces its global partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures. The two-phase activation reaches customers at the PoS with a global retail activation and online through the Europe-wide digital playout of Aquaman’s SmartThings Kingdom. The campaign runs cross-channel across all Samsung Owned Channels.

As anticipation builds for the German theatrical release on December 21st (and the international release on December 20th), the official trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is being released as part of the 8K content partnership between Samsung and Warner Bros. Pictures can be seen exclusively on Samsung TV sets in retail stores – and in heroic 8K resolution. High-resolution 8K content1 skilfully showcases all the functions of the Samsung Neo QLED 8K TV models. Thanks to the sharp details and three-dimensional image impression that Samsung 8K TV models enable, consumers can experience their first taste of the Aquaman sequel in almost cinematic images.

The activation is also intended to draw attention to SmartThings Energy in global retail2 as part of the SmartThings app3. A smart feature, for example, is the AI Energy Mode4 used in Samsung washing machines and can monitor energy consumption and reduce it by up to 70%5. This is made possible by Ecobubble™ technology: the desired cleaning results are achieved even at low washing temperatures; the washing machine hardly has to heat the water. Customers are inspired directly at the PoS to pick up the trident and become the (super)heroes of their own home.

The Aquaman SmartThings Kingdom has been playing on Samsung’s European websites since December 11, 2023. Customers will experience a journey through Aquaman’s underwater kingdom while exploring Samsung SmartThings. For example, it shows how SmartThings Find can be used to find the misplaced Galaxy Z Flip5 and how SmartThings Energy can be used to monitor your own energy consumption. The Jet Live feature of the Jet Bot AI+ vacuum robot, which can be used in combination with Pet Care in the SmartThings app to keep an eye on pets while on the go, will also be presented on the Samsung websites as part of the collaboration with Warner Bros.

“By partnering with Warner Bros. on the cinematic highlight Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, we can show what Samsung SmartThings can do in combination with the superpowers of Aquaman and offer our customers a unique experience in retail and online. With the film trailer in high-quality 8K resolution, fans can discover the lost kingdom in breathtaking picture quality before the official cinema release,” said Benjamin Braun, Chief Marketing Officer at Samsung Europe.
