Salary increase for our politicians: More than 30,000 euros for Scholz – domestic politics

Payday in Berlin!

From Friday, the salaries of the members of the Bundestag will increase by 310.40 euros to 14,906.68 euros!

The members of the federal government can also look forward to the windfall, as many of them also have a seat in the Bundestag in addition to their office.

► This is how the chancellor breaks through the 30,000 euro mark per month for the first time: Olaf Scholz (64, SPD) will receive in future 30 139.81 euros! The government responded to the AfD request.

► Vice-Chancellor and Economics Minister Robert Habeck (52, Greens) in turn will get in the future 25,573.08 euros. Just like many other ministers: including foreign minister Annalena Baerbock (41, green) and Minister of Finance Christian Lindner (43, FDP).

► Secretary of Defense Christina Lambrecht (57, SPD), on the other hand, has to deal with “only” 20,425.57 euros per month content. Reason: The Social Democrat has no seat in the Bundestag.

The second tier of power can also look forward to an increase in salary: the salary of Siemtje Möller, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Ministry of Defense, rose to 21,604.43 euros in July.

Mathematically, Möller even gets a higher basic salary than her boss Lambrecht! However, federal ministers are also entitled to the payment of daily allowances and travel expenses.

In any case, one thing is certain: With the traffic light, not only is the federal government with the most employees in office (around 26,000), it is also the best-paid of all time!
