Salah Abdeslam and Mohamed Abrini found guilty of terrorist assassinations

Salah Abdeslam and Mohamed Abrini were convicted of terrorist assassinations for the bomb attacks in the Belgian capital in 2016.

Belgian justice found Salah Abdeslam and Mohamed Abrini guilty of terrorist assassinations for the bomb attacks perpetrated in Brussels in 2016 which left 32 dead and more than 300 injured.

This is the most serious offense retained before the Brussels Assize Court to judge these suicide attacks. Both men face life imprisonment. Unlike Mohamed Abrini, Salah Abdeslam, in prison on the day of the attacks, disputed his participation in the facts.

As required by Belgian law, the sentences in the event of guilt will only be pronounced in a second stage, after a new phase of requisitions and defense pleadings. This stage will take place at the beginning of September after a break for the summer holidays.

Salah Abdeslam and Mohamed Abrini have already been sentenced to life imprisonment in 2022 in Paris for the attacks of November 13, 2015.
