Sabrina Soussan Suez: The woman who wants to supply the world with water – Economy

The Frenchwoman Sabrina Soussan worked for Siemens for almost 20 years, and now she heads the environmental group Suez – and is amazed at how differently Germany and France operate.

Sabrina Soussan has reached the top. From the window of her office she has an amazing view over Paris, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysée, the seemingly endless sea of houses in the French capital. Soussan, 54, has headed the French environmental group Suez since last year. And it has its headquarters in one of the tallest office towers in Paris’ high-rise district of La Défense. Soussan’s desk is on the 40th floor, and on the shelf behind her are many memories: photos, sculptures, prizes – and a miniature German ICE 4. Her colleagues at Siemens gave her this as a farewell gift after almost 20 years with the Munich company.
