On the long Pentecost weekend, there are major timetable deviations on the Munich S-Bahn. Due to work on the main route, on which all S-Bahn lines normally travel, this will be completely closed between the Pasing station and Ostbahnhof from Friday evening, May 26 (10:30 p.m.) to Tuesday morning, May 30 (4:40 a.m.), Deutsche Bahn announced on Friday. The Ostbahnhof is also only accessible to a limited extent.
A replacement bus service is therefore planned. In addition, subways, trams and buses traveling on similar routes should be on the road more often. Between Pasing train station, main train station and Ostbahnhof, passengers can also switch to regional trains that run on other platforms, as well as to the S8 that runs via the southern ring road.
According to the railways, not only work on the maintenance and modernization of the main route, but also the construction of the second S-Bahn main route are planned during this period.
