Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively want to donate to Ukrainian refugees. The couple explain that those fleeing “need protection”.

Blake Lively, 34, and Ryan Reynolds, 45, are among the stars championing Ukraine. As a result of the war, “countless numbers of Ukrainians were forced to flee their homes to neighboring countries,” Reynolds wrote via Twitter. “You need protection.” Together with his wife, he wants to double every donation to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) – “up to a million dollars,” he said.

Blake Lively shares the same appeal for donations

Blake Lively shared the appeal for donations on Instagram. She and Ryan Reynolds are “doubling every dollar donated to the United States’ UNHCR, up to $1 million,” she affirmed in her post. The UN High Commissioner for Refugees is “on site helping the more than 50,000 Ukrainians who had to flee their homes in less than 48 hours,” the actress continued. It is “providing life-saving assistance and is also working with neighboring countries to ensure the protection of these families.”

Fellow actress Zoe Saldana (43) commented on the post with three emojis showing clapping hands. Ashley Tisdale (36) wrote: “I have donated” and added two red hearts. Blake Lively’s sister Robyn (50) explained: “Done! I love you more than anything.”

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have been married since 2012 and have three daughters: James (7), Inez (5) and Betty (2).
