“I’m just Ken” birthday flash mob: Ryan Gosling moves “Barbie” director to tears

Barbie” actor Ryan Gosling surprised director Greta Gerwig with a creative birthday present.
Greta Gerwig is currently celebrating the greatest success of her career with her hit film “Barbie”. On Friday she also celebrated another personal milestone – her 40th birthday. Her “Ken” aka Ryan Gosling insisted on giving the director a special gift. On the film’s official Instagram account released a video showing the Ken actor’s surprise.
“As the Kens know, sometimes the only way to express your feelings is through song and dance,” the video commented. “Ken Ryan sent these special Barbies and Kens to start off Greta’s birthday with all these sentiments!” The clip features a dance group performing in a flash mob to Gosling’s song “I’m Just Ken” from the film and Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night.” Gerwig follows the performance with joy and apparently even lets a few tears flow.

“Barbie” will soon join the list of films that have grossed more than a billion dollars at the box office. In North America alone, “Barbie” grossed more than 400 million US dollars after exactly two weeks, reports the industry magazine “The Hollywood Reporter”. Never before has a Warner Bros. film achieved such a box office result so quickly. If you now add the international earnings, “Barbie” is now more than 900 million US dollars. The trade journal predicts that production will break the billion mark by Sunday or early next week at the latest.
