Alec Baldwin has spoken out about the completion of filming of the western Rust. For the actor it was “a miracle”.

About a week ago, Alec Baldwin (65) announced that the shooting of the western film “Rust”, in which camerawoman Halyna Hutchins (1979-2021) died in an accident on the set in 2021, was completed. On Instagram the actor describes the completion of the production as “a miracle”.

“Last day of shooting ‘Rust’ in Montana,” he captioned a photo from the set. It was “a long and difficult road”. “But today we are reaching the end of the road,” said Baldwin. He then congratulates director Joel Souza (49), camerawoman Bianca Cline and “the entire cast and crew” on completing the film. It was “no less than a miracle”.

Death drama happened 19 months ago

19 months ago, on October 21, 2021, the death drama that caused horror worldwide occurred on the set of “Rust”: Baldwin accidentally shot the camerawoman Halyna Hutchins – with a pistol, which he had been assured of, that it was not loaded with real ammunition.

Filming was then halted and Baldwin was charged with involuntary manslaughter. Although the charges were later dropped, further lawsuits followed from both Halyna Hutchins’ family and other crew members on the set. An agreement was later reached with Hutchins’ widower Matthew, which provided, among other things, that he take over the executive production of the film. Filming then resumed in April.

It is not yet known when “Rust” will hit the cinemas.
