Is Russia threatening nuclear weapons? According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Western media exaggerate on the subject.

According to Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Russia does not see itself at war with NATO. Rather, NATO believes it is at war with Russia, Lavrov said in an interview with the Arabic-language broadcaster Al-Arabiya, according to the Russian agencies RIA and TASS.

Furthermore, Russia is not threatening nuclear weapons, Western media exaggerated on this subject. “We are not “playing” with a nuclear war,” Lavrov said.

Lavrov had previously warned of the real danger of a Third World War. At the end of February, Russia had put deterrent weapons on alert, which was understood worldwide as a threat to the nuclear arsenal.

Lavrov: “Special operation” ends when goals are achieved

According to the agencies, Lavrov repeated in the interview published on Friday that the official Russian side so-called “special operation” ends when all goals have been achieved. This is to protect the civilian population in eastern Ukraine and to ensure “that there are no threats from the territory of Ukraine for this population and for Russia. That’s all”. In the eastern Ukrainian regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, pro-Russian separatists had proclaimed people’s republics, which Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin recognized as independent shortly before the start of the war in Ukraine.

The Russian foreign minister also said that Russia knows the routes through which the West intends to deliver arms to Ukraine. According to him, the delivered weapons should become the target of the “special operation” “as soon as they reach the territory of Ukraine”.
