In the north of Munich, where the masters of gas, electricity and water sit, they are prepared. “Protected against bazookas,” says Jörg Ochs, pointing to the metal plates that can be pushed in front of the windows of the box-shaped building if necessary, powered by powerful electric motors. They are 30 centimeters thick, light grey, cold. Here, in the data center of the municipal utility, runs the jugular artery of this big city, from here the energy supply is controlled. And not just since the start of the Russian attack on Ukraine, this place has been one thing above all: a bunker.
