Russia says it repelled drone attack in Crimea

The Russian Ministry of Defense accused kyiv and Moscow of being involved in this attack, which caused “minor damage” to a ship of the Black Sea Fleet in Crimea, a Ukrainian peninsula annexed by Moscow.

Moscow blames both Ukraine and the UK jointly. The Russian Navy has repelled a “massive” drone attack in Sevastopol Bay against the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the governor of this city on the annexed Crimean peninsula has said.

“Tonight took place the most massive attack by drones and remotely piloted surface vehicles on the waters of Sevastopol Bay in the history” of the conflict, said Mikhail Razvojayev, quoted by the TASS agency.

“No facilities in the city were affected,” he said earlier in the day. “The situation is under control.”

Russia accuses London

At midday, the Russian military blamed Ukraine and the United Kingdom for the attack, which caused “minor damage” to one of the ships.

“The preparation for this terrorist act and the training of the military personnel of the 73rd Ukrainian center for special maritime operations were carried out by British specialists based in Ochakov, in the Mykolaiv region of Ukraine,” the Russian Defense Ministry said on Telegram.

These ships participated in the protection of convoys responsible for exporting Ukrainian cereals, according to Moscow.
