Russia bans Biden and Blinken from entering the country
In response to US sanctions, Moscow is now imposing entry bans on US President Biden and other members of the government. A “black list” of 13 names was published.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry on Tuesday released a “blacklist” of 13 names, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, Biden’s national security adviser Jacob Sullivan and his spokeswoman Jen Psaki. Ex-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is also on the stop list.
Psaki immediately responded with ridicule. “The first thing I would like to say is that President Biden is a junior so they may have sanctioned his father. May he rest in peace,” she said in Washington. Joe Biden’s full name is Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. – his father was Joseph Robinette Biden Sr. Psaki added: “I would say it will not surprise any of you that none of us are planning tourist trips to Russia and none of us have bank accounts has that we cannot access.”

It is the first time that Russia has published a list of affected persons. However, the move is more symbolic. The United States had previously personally sanctioned Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin, his foreign minister Sergey Lavrov and other members of the government and important aides.
The State Department said it would expand the sanctions list to include “senior U.S. officials, military officials, lawmakers, businessmen, experts and members of the media” who have acted “Russophobic” or have contributed to inciting hatred against Russia and the imposition of restrictive measures. This should also protect the Russian economy.
Russia attacked Ukraine on February 24. As a result, the USA, the EU and other countries issued comprehensive economic and financial sanctions against Russia. According to the US government, these have set the Russian economy back decades.
“The unprecedented costs that we imposed with allies and partners have undone 30 years of economic progress,” Pskai said, citing, among other things, the collapse of the Russian ruble, high inflation and what experts say may be a looming collapse Russian economy.
