Vladimir Putin dismisses the next senior military. A dam is under attack in southern Ukraine: the news ticker on Sunday, November 6th.

+++ 9.15 p.m.: The government in Kyiv is apparently convinced that Russia is only faking a withdrawal from Kherson in order to engage Ukrainian troops in combat. A military spokeswoman said on Saturday. “Russian troops are trying very hard to convince everyone that they are withdrawing, but at the same time we see objective evidence that they are staying,” she said, according to consistent Ukrainian media reports, which also include the US broadcaster CNN picks up. “There are military units that were stationed there and a lot of military equipment is stationed there and their fighting positions are there as well. The fighting positions established on the left bank will be used in support of the fighting positions on the right bank,” the spokeswoman said.

According to the spokeswoman, the Russians are moving their elite units and officers to the left bank of the Dnieper, leaving the units on the right bank with no means of escape or evacuation. “They’re letting the units on the right bank fight to their last breath,” she said. The assessment of the Ukrainian military cannot be independently verified.

+++ 8 p.m.: The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army has accused the Russian military of stealing private boats on a massive scale in the Kherson region. In particular, this concerns boats lying on the banks of the Dnieper River. The troops may be primarily targeting engines. The news portal reports Kyiv Independent. Heavy fighting has been going on in the region for weeks. A recent video released on Saturday (November 5) from the official account of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Twitter was posted shows an attack on Russian tanks and the subsequent flight of Russian soldiers. A bird’s-eye view of a convoy of three Russian tanks can be seen in the footage. One of the tanks exploded after being shot at by Ukrainian forces. The video later shows Russian soldiers taking shelter in a nearby forest. In addition to the video, the ministry’s post on Twitter also contained the text: “Strike”. As of Sunday noon (November 6), the video had been viewed almost 500,000 times on Twitter.

News on the Ukraine war: dam under fire

First report from Sunday, November 6th, 4:00 p.m.: According to Russian sources, the Kakhovka Dam in the Russian-occupied southern Ukrainian region of Kherson was damaged in an attack. On Sunday (November 6) there was a Ukrainian attack with “six HIMARS rockets”, the state agency reported mug and referred to a representative of civil protection. A rocket hit the dam. The kilometer-long Nowa Kakhovka barrier structure consists in parts of a wall and a dam and is located on the Dnieper in the Cherson region.
