The Rolling Stones have fueled speculation about a new album with an ad in a local London newspaper. It would be her first album of her own songs since 2005’s A Bigger Bang.
An advertisement for the fictional glass repair company Hackney Diamonds in London’s local newspaper Hackney Gazette has fueled rumors of a new Rolling Stones album. Because the advertisement in the “Hackney Gazette” alludes to the Stones hits “Satisfaction”, “Gimme Shelter” and “Shattered”: “Our friendly team promises you satisfaction. Several clues in the ad point to the Stones, like the BBC am today reported: So the dot above the “i” is a miniature version of the band’s famous logo – a mouth with a tongue out. The alleged business “Hackney Diamonds” was founded in 1962 – the same year as the band. Finally, the name “Hackney Diamonds” is in the same font as the 1978 album “Some Girls”.

Recently, the Stones had repeatedly made vague hints about a new album – for example that they wanted to “get something going” with new drummer Steve Jordan. In addition, it was recently reported that ex-bassist Bill Wyman and ex-Beatle Paul McCartney are said to have been in the studio with the Stones.
Should the Rolling Stones actually release a new album, it would be the first album by the British rock band led by frontman Mick Jagger (80) since the death of drummer Charlie Watts, who died in 2021. Financially, the Rolling Stones would definitely no longer need a new album: According to estimates by “Forbes” magazine, the Stones earned 98 million US dollars with their Sixty Tour in 2022 alone. The Hackney Empire Theater is located on Mare Street in London’s Hackney district – so it’s possible that the Stones will be performing there for the first time with their new album in early September.
