Will Aaron Taylor-Johnson be the new 007? Pierce Brosnan would be for it. He speaks highly of his young colleague.
For Pierce Brosnan (70), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (33) is a good choice as the new 007 actor. On RTÉ Radio 1’s “Ray D’Arcy Show”, the actor, who played James Bond in four films between 1995 and 2002, was asked what he thought of the rumors that Taylor-Johnson could be the next Bond.
Pierce Brosnan: “The man has what it takes”
“I think the man has the stuff and the talent and the charisma to play Bond,” Pierce Brosnan said of his young fellow actor. The 70-year-old apparently knows Taylor-Johnson well. With him he realized one of the first projects of his production company Irish DreamTime in 2009, the film “Time of Mourning” (originally “The Greatest”).
“One of the first films we did, one of the earliest films, was ‘The Greatest’. And he was the greatest in it,” Brosnan said of the film, which also stars him alongside Taylor-Johnson, Carey Mulligan (38). ) and Susan Sarandon (77) took part. “So, yes, I’ve read the news about his possibilities as Bond, and I would definitely take my hat off to the guy,” Pierce Brosnan added.
When asked what advice he would give Taylor-Johnson if he actually became the new 007, Brosnan also said: “Be brave. Go out there. Have a great time.” The ex-007 further advised: “Just love it. Just do it. You can do it.”
Who will be the new James Bond?
Officially, the race to succeed Daniel Craig (56) as James Bond has still not been decided. Reports that Aaron Taylor-Johnson would get the role were recently denied. The Sun had reported that the Kick-Ass star had been “officially offered to play James Bond.” The “BBC” then initially put an end to the speculation. A production insider revealed that “there is no truth to the rumors.”
