“I only dance when I drink,” said Amira Pocher. Despite the low level, comedian Oliver Pocher’s wife dances her way into the hearts of the viewers in the opening show of the new season.

Podcaster and presenter Amira Pocher danced her way to the top of the prominent candidate field on the RTL show “Let’s Dance”.

The wife of comedian Oliver Pocher (44) secured the so-called direct ticket at the start of the new season with a fiery tango. The 29-year-old cannot be eliminated from the dance competition in the “Let’s Dance” episode in the coming week – she and her dance partner Massimo Sinató have a wild card and are automatically further.

Pocher owed the excellent starting position for the coming weeks to both a good jury rating and the encouragement of the audience. The judges saw her in second place after her dance to the lascivious song “Fever” by Peggy Lee, just behind presenter Janin Ullmann (40). The spectators finally catapulted them into pole position with their votes.

Pocher had previously stacked quite deep. “I only dance when I’m drinking,” she explained. In the round of introductions, she stated: “I am a mother of two children and the wife of a very well-known professional dancer.” That was an allusion to her husband Oliver Pocher, who took part in the dancing competition in 2019 – with sometimes strange appearances.

A special feature of the opening show was the absence of the strict permanent juror Joachim Llambi at the jury desk. The reason was a positive corona test. However, Llambi explained in a video switch that he was fine. He hopes to be back in the studio next Friday.
