Severe weather conditions in Germany: heavy rain, large hail and gusts up to hurricane strength announced

The German Weather Service warns of severe storms this Thursday. RTL responded by changing the evening program.
According to the weather experts, there will be a lot to do this Thursday (June 22nd), especially in the central and eastern regions of Germany. After the past hot and sticky days, there is a very high risk of storms in many parts of the country, with heavy rain, large hail and gusts up to hurricane force expected. Even dangerous tornadoes cannot be ruled out in the weather conditions.

Tips on how to behave in thunderstorms
“RTL Aktuell Spezial” on the nation’s weather situation
Reason enough for the broadcaster RTL to overturn their existing prime-time TV program in favor of a themed special. In a 15 minute “RTL Aktuell Spezial” with the title “Heat, drought, storms – what does summer bring?” At 8:15 p.m., experts will give the audience an outlook on what to expect in terms of weather in summer 2023. According to the announcement, RTL reporters also meet people who “confront the heat and drought with creative approaches”. As a result, subsequent programs will be delayed by a quarter of an hour.
