The heir to the British throne took some time off while his wife recovered in hospital. The princess is likely to be out for a while.

The British heir to the throne, Prince William, wants a break during his wife Princess’s hospital stay Kate resumes public duties. As the British news agency PA reported on Monday, the 41-year-old wants to host a ceremony at Windsor Castle on Wednesday and take part in a fundraising gala in the evening. According to PA, he took some time off to be there for his family.

Kate (42) underwent abdominal surgery in mid-January and was in hospital for almost two weeks. She is now recovering at home in Windsor, where the couple now lives with their three children. The family lives in Adelaide Cottage on the extensive grounds of Windsor Castle.

Speculation about Kate’s illness

The palace did not make public what Kate was suffering from. It’s not supposed to be cancer, but the length of her stay in the hospital fueled speculation that it couldn’t have been a simple procedure. Kate is supposed to take a break until after Easter.

At the same time as his daughter-in-law, William’s father was King Charles III. (75) in the hospital in January. Unlike Kate, the reason for this was announced. The monarch was treated for benign prostate enlargement – a routine procedure – and was spotted going to church again on Sunday. Both royals had been treated at the private London Clinic.
