Kate’s scandalous uncle Gary Goldsmith is once again causing a sensation with his participation in “Celebrity Big Brother”. This is his moving past.

With Gary Goldsmith (58) is in the British ““Celebrity Big Brother” a member of the British royal family can be seen on reality TV. However, this is not the first time that Princess Kate’s uncle (42) has been in the headlines. In the past, the 58-year-old has caused a stir several times – and that mostly for negative reasons.

It’s not without reason that Gary Goldsmith is considered the black sheep of the Middleton family. The younger brother of Kate’s mother Carole Middleton (69) is an IT recruiter. In the 1990s he is said to have founded an IT company, which is said to have earned him around £30 million. But he attracted much more attention through inappropriate and private statements about his royal relatives. Goldsmith is known for his regular chatter in front of the press, which is not welcomed in royal circles.

Cocaine scandal and four wives in 30 years

In 2009, the Brit was involved in another scandal. At that time he is said to have been caught collecting cocaine for a prostitute at a party in Ibiza. That was also reported once again “The Sun” in connection with his recent interview shortly before his entry into the “Celebrity Big Brother” house on Monday (March 4th).

His love life also caused a stir several times. In the past 30 years, Goldsmith has been married four times. Even a divorce is considered a no-go among the royals; Charles’ (75) divorce from Princess Diana (1961-1997) in 1996 was viewed critically by his mother, Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), for years. By the way, Kate and her sister Pippa (40) were flower girls at Goldsmith’s first wedding in 1991. His second marriage took place in 1997.

In court for domestic violence

In 2017, Kate’s uncle was convicted in court – for domestic violence. He had beaten his fourth wife, Julie-Ann Goldsmith, unconscious while under the influence of alcohol. Goldsmith’s attack was the result of a heated argument between the couple, like back then including the “DailyMail” had reported. Julie-Ann is said to have initially slapped her husband. The drunk businessman then became so angry that he knocked her down with a “left hook” in front of a taxi driver. Julie-Ann fell to the ground and didn’t move for around 15 seconds before waking up again. Goldsmith was then taken away by police officers who were called and his wife was taken to the hospital. He then admitted the crime in court.

This forced him to pay a fine of the equivalent of 5,600 euros. Goldsmith also had to undergo 20 sessions of rehab. When announcing the verdict, the judge in charge described Goldsmith as a “nasty” and even “disgusting drunkard”.

This is what he hopes for from his “Celebrity Big Brother” trip

When it comes to his own family, Goldsmith has at least spoken mostly positive and protective words over the past few years. His niece Kate is “beautiful on the outside but even more beautiful on the inside and is truly a loving mother.”

However, Goldsmith is less fond of Kate’s brother-in-law Prince Harry (39) and his wife Duchess Meghan (42). He literally told The Sun: “I was pretty upset when they attacked my beautiful niece who couldn’t say anything about herself.” He was outraged by the racism allegations against Kate. “I think everyone loved Harry, but to let his family fall over themselves like that was just inappropriate.” Kate is 100 percent not racist, “Neither is Carole, my family is not racist.”

Regarding his reality TV appearance, he also told “The Sun” that he now wanted to show the best version of himself. “I didn’t really take care of myself and made some pretty bad decisions,” Goldsmith said. He doesn’t see himself as a celebrity, he’s just related to celebrities. However, he fears that he could be portrayed as a villain on “PBB” and also admits that he likes to cause a stir. “I’m a little hostile, I just like provoking people.” How will his famous roommates like Sharon Osbourne (71) like it?
