Royal de Luxe back in September for a grand parade

The people of Nantes have been waiting for this since June 2014, when the troupe last came to the streets of the city center. A big show in the form of a parade will be given by Royal de Luxe from September 22 to 24, during the Rugby World Cup, Nantes Métropole made official on Wednesday. The famous street theater company will come to present its new creation, whose heroes are said to be two giant dogs animated by puppeteers: the Xolo and the Bull Machin. The first has already come to Nantes in 2011 with the Little Giant. The second was found last september during a highly acclaimed fashion show in Villeurbanne (Rhône).

The parade will start in the heart of the Bellevue district, where Royal de Luxe has offered several artistic creations over the past three years. It will then continue in the city center of Nantes.

A big financial boost

To support the project, Nantes Métropole will put its hand in its pocket. The community will thus spend 1.27 million euros to help create the show. It will add a subsidy of 538,000 for its operation in Nantes.

“We must measure the rarity of this type of spectacle, rejoices Johanna Rolland (PS), president of Nantes metropolis. In these complicated times, sharing good times together makes sense. »
