Before the repechage scheduled for today (12.45 p.m.), in which the parade boat of the German Rowing Association (DRV) wants to use its last chance to make it into the final, Julian Garth tested positive for the virus. Max John from the four without a coxswain takes the roll seat of the sick Krefeld.
After the disappointing fourth place in the preliminary heat, this conversion comes at an inopportune time for the big boat. Even before the World Cup, two team members who were unable to play for professional reasons had been replaced. “We’re trying to get through with Max John in the repechage and reach the final on Sunday. We trained together once and it worked out quite well,” said eights coach Uwe Bender
