He employs several gardeners, but does not have his own garden. A lot of water separates him from his closest neighbor, and yet he has plenty of people around him, at least in summer. Tobias Schlenker is the castellan of the Rose Island and as such he lives there with his partner Manni and his dog Josias. In a small apartment on the first floor of the gardener’s house built in 1853, which is directly linked to the rose garden, which gave its name to the only island in Lake Starnberg. It is a paradise. But one thing that you have to get used to to endure. Because life on an island is not always easy, for example in autumn or winter when thick banks of fog linger over the lake and a trip over to friends on the mainland becomes practically impossible.
