Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has revealed that he actually wanted to move to FC Bayern, FC Barcelona or Real Madrid for his time after Inter Milan.
“There are three teams at the highest level: Barcelona, Real and Bayern. All players dream of it, that’s the truth,” Lukaku said in an interview with Sky Sport Italia and continued: “I thought I would move to one of these clubs after Inter. Since that didn’t happen, I said: There is only one club I see myself now – and that was Chelsea.”
After two years at Inter, Lukaku moved to Chelsea last summer for 115 million euros, where he had already been under contract from 2011 to 2014. At Inter, Lukaku was able to reinvigorate his career after going through difficult times at Manchester United.

Lukaku’s statements were not particularly well received by Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel. “Of course we don’t like that. It brings in background noise that we don’t need,” said Tuchel at a press conference on Friday.
Lukaku had problems at times after a good start at Chelsea, but in the last two games against Aston Villa (3: 1) and Brighton (1: 1) the 28-year-old was able to enter the scorers’ list again. Overall, the Belgian international, who signed with the Blues until 2026, currently has seven goals in 18 competitive appearances.
