A truck burned out completely on Autobahn 8 near Rohrdorf (Rosenheim district). According to the first findings, a technical defect was the cause of the fire, as the police announced on Thursday. After a loud bang in the engine compartment, the vehicle lost oil, which ignited. When the emergency services arrived, the semi-trailer truck loaded with food was already fully engulfed in flames. The lane in the direction of Salzburg remained closed for four hours early Thursday morning for the extinguishing and clean-up work. The police estimate the damage at around 150,000 euros. Nobody got hurt.
